Learn Fluent Italian In Under 3 Months

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

If you are thinking about studying Italian, you are probably wondering how long it is going to take you to achieve fluency. In this article, I will explain how you can achieve basic fluency in Italian in 3 months or less by following this plan.

The truth is that many students end up taking Italian language classes for many years and still cannot understand real Italian conversation. I also know many students who have achieved fluency in Italian or in other foreign languages in less than 3 months.

Before I get more into the plan, I should note that those of you who already know another romance langauge like Spanish or French will find this much easier to do. Also, if you have studied a foreign language that wasn’t necessarily a romance one, you will still have a slight advantage. For those of you who have never studied a foreign language before, you may find that the process takes you a bit more time because you are not used to learning foreign languages yet.

However, you should know that it is definitely possible to achieve basic fluency in Italian in 3 months as long as you stay committed to studying Italian each and every day for a serious amount of time.

Let’s go over some basic numbers so that you can see for yourself what is required to get to the basic fluency level in Italian.

In European languages, the 1000 most commonly used words make up 85% of common speech. The 3000 most commonly used words make up 95% of common speech. In order to achieve basic fluency in Italian, we need to hit the 95% mark which means a total of 3000 words.

Additionally, many experts in languages say that in order to become fluent in languages like Italian, Spanish or French, 200 hours of active study time is required.

So, because you are going to study for 3 months, you will have 90 days of study. This means learning about 33 new Italian words per day. If you devote 2 hours to this study process, you will get 180 hours of study in by the end of 3 months which is basically the 200 hours recommended by language experts.

You might think that learning 33 new Italian words per day is too hard. But consider the fact that you are going to be studying 2 hours everyday. This means you learn 16 words per hour or about 1 word every 4 minutes.

Take into consideration the fact that many coganates exist between Italian and English like the English word “international” being “internazionale” in Italian and you will see that you will be able to pick up many Italian words in less than 5 seconds.

However, we should remember that you won’t have all 2 hours to devote entirely to the study of new words. Remember that you will want to review words that you have learned in the past and also make sure you are picking up important things like correct grammar. After all this, however, you should still have enough time to reach your goal of basic Italian fluency.

If you are able to study Italian actively for 2 hours per day and reach the goal of learning 3000 Italian words by the end of 3 months’ time, you will have achieved basic Italian fluency. The important thing to remember here is that you need to stay committed each and every day to your Italian studies and take each step seriously. If you are able to stick with it each day and progress, then you will attain fluency in Italian.

Learning a foreign language by watching movies can be a great way to get ahead in a second language and in some cases can be better than “traditional” language learning methods like classes and grammar books! Let’s go over why…

Watching foreign movies immerses you in real, fluid language. This exposes you to the way that the language is really spoken. It’s not slowed down for learners and it’s not made clearer for foreigners. For this reason, you can begin to adjust right away to the actual language as it is spoken today. This is an important skill since you will be using the language at a fast rate as the movie exposes to you, not the slowed down rate that teachers and audio programs use.

Probably most important about watching foreign movies is the fact that it is an enjoyable activity. For this reason, you are not as likely to tire of it as you are to tire of doing grammar exercises or reading dry language textbooks. With movies, you can keep watching and therefore spend more time in the foreign language than you would have if you had just been reading grammar books. More time in the language means more exposure and more learning.

With movies, you also get the added benefit of a visual reference. The visual images will help you understand what is being said so that you can understand better. Additionally, watching a story unfold will also help you begin to understand various vocabulary. Words are often likely to be repeated throughout the movie allowing you to pick them up.

For these reasons, watching movies can be a great way to increase your language knowledge and get more exposure in. If nothing else, you should watch a movie or two just for fun because it’s a fun thing to do. You should never force yourself to do only boring things in the foreign language you are trying to learn. With movies, you get to do something fun and learn at the same time which is the best combination for language learning. In this way, you will find that you pick up new words, sentence structure and more through your watching.

I should also note that to help your learning along, you should have some way of keeping track of the words you come across. This way, you can review them later and not forget them. There are various methods for speedy vocabulary learning but they are out of the scope of this article. If you are interested in fast language learning, I would suggest taking a look at my book which covers that topic in depth.

If you want the fastest method to learn a language so that you will become fluent in a foreign language in a matter of months, learn thousands of words without worrying about forgetting them, master grammar and do all of this in an enjoyable, painless manner then you need to read Learn That Language Now!

Best Country To Learn A Language In

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

I was recently asked, what is the best country to learn a language in? Well, I suppose it goes without saying that firstly, a country that speaks the language you are studying would be a good choice.

However, I do have a few tips to give about making any country you go to the “best” country for learning a new language. If you truly want to maximize every moment you are in the country for learning your new language which would result in the fastest learning time, it’s probably best to go to a place where there are not very many people from your home country who would tempt you into going back to speaking English.

That is to say, if you make friends mostly with people from your home country, you will likely end up spending a lot of your conversation time in English. On the other hand, if you make friends with the natives, you will be able to practice your new language and improve in it. Instead of spending the time in English situations, you will be in the foreign culture’s situation causing you to learn the foreign language better.

So, it’s possible that some countries are better than others for learning a new language if one country has fewer people from your home country to tempt you than others. But, ultimately, there’s always a place you can find in pretty much any country that will be ideal for your language learning adventure.

The point is that since you have gone through all the trouble to go to a foreign country, you may as well get the most bang for your buck and make foreign friends who will help you learn the language much quicker than you would have if you had stayed with people from your home country the entire time.

Of course, there are also other ways that you can improve your learning time and for that, I recommend taking a look at the book I’ve written listed in the link below.

If you want the fastest method to learn a language so that you will become fluent in a foreign language in a matter of months, learn thousands of words without worrying about forgetting them, master grammar and do all of this in an enjoyable, painless manner then you need to read Learn That Language Now!

You may be interested in learning how to read and write Japanese, that is, the three “alphabets” Japanese uses, hiragana, katakana and kanji. So, what is the best way to approach the Japanese written language?

As I said before, three “alphabets” make up Japanese. The first, hiragana, is used mostly for grammar denoting things like past tense or present tense. It is also used for the particles in Japanese. Katakana is often used for sounds and foreign words. Both Hiragana and Katakana are phonetic alphabet systems. Both alphabets have under 100 characters.

Kanji on the other hand is the beast that most Japanese learners have trouble with. In order to become “literate” in Japanese, you need to learn the government recommended 1,945 joyo kanji. Kanji, of course, is not phonetic and you need to learn the multiple readings for each character.

This may sound particularly difficult. Well, it is, but it’s not as bad as it sounds. You most likely do not need to learn all 1,945 kanji and furthermore, you probably don’t have to learn how to write them all. Since everyone uses computers these days, it is most important that you know how to recognize the important characters so that after you type in the Japanese sounds, you can select the correct characters on your screen.

In fact, many young Japanese these days have trouble with kanji themselves and often end up resorting to using their cell phones to look up characters if they happen to forget them and are away from a computer. So, don’t feel bad about kanji yourself.

Now, what is the best way to approach learning the written language of Japanese? First, you should learn hiragana and katakana. As I said before, they are both phonetic alphabets and each have less than 100 characters so they can be learned pretty quickly. Since they are used fairly often in Japanese, the are very important and you will be using them quite a bit.

So the real problem is kanji. In my opinion, the best way to approach the study of kanji is by repeated exposure. If you’re learning Japanese for the long term, you may be interested in a systematic approach like the Heisig method which teaches you kanji by introducing them through their smaller “radical” parts. Nonetheless, I think it’s important that you get repeated exposure to kanji in order to learn them quickly and efficiently.

The whole process of the best way to get repeated exposure is out of the scope of this article but I cover it in depth in my book which you may be interested in taking a look at if you are serious about learning the Japanese language or any foreign language for that matter. Suffice it to say, you should set up some system to review the kanji you come across.

I hope this article gave you some help in your pursuit of the written language in Japanese. If you want the fastest method to learn a language so that you will become fluent in a foreign language in a matter of months, learn thousands of words without worrying about forgetting them, master grammar and do all of this in an enjoyable, painless manner then you need to read Learn That Language Now!

Recently I was asked, what is the best way to go about learning a new language?

The truth is, I’ve written an entire book on this topic (which if you are serious about learning a new language, I highly recommend you take a look at, you can see the link below). However, I will give you a few pointers in this article.

Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind when learning a new language is to keep it fun. If all you do is look at textbooks and do grammar exercises, you will probably lose your mind in boredom. Besides, you probably did not undertake this great task of learning a new language in order to read textbooks and do grammar exercises. More likely, you chose to learn a new language in order to enjoy a new culture, make new friends, enjoy new entertainment, read books, etc.

So, even if you are just beginning the language, make sure that you set aside time for fun things in your studies. Be sure to read an interesting magazine in your new language or watch a foreign film. Not only will you be doing something you find enjoyable but you will be practicing and learning your new language at the same time! It is a win-win situation.

Second, you should have some organized way of reviewing vocabulary. If all you do is look up new words in the dictionary and the move on, you will find that you come across the same words again and again and yet cannot remember their meanings. There is a very efficient way of memorizing vocabulary that I go over in my book which is out of the scope of this article but I want to emphasize that no matter what you do, you should be doing something to make sure you keep track of the words you are learning. Otherwise, you will be wasting your effort in relearning them every time they come up and this cannot only be a frustrating experience but also a waste of your study time, as well!

Third, use many different materials. The truth is, one software program (like Rosetta Stone or Pimsleur) or one textbook is not going to get you to fluency. It makes sense to attack a language from many different fronts. Not only will there be a lot of overlap which will reinforce vocabulary and grammar for you but you will also experience a variety of styles in the language which you will benefit from.

Well, I hope those three simple tips helped you. Again, if you are serious about learning a new language as quickly as possible without wasting any time, I highly recommend taking a look at my book. Just click on the link below!

If you want to learn a foreign language, playing video games may be a good way to do it. What, no textbooks, classes or annoying homework?! That’s right. Let’s go over why…

Video games have an advantage over classes and other traditional forms of language learning because it is a fun activity. Chances are that you are more likely to spend more time doing fun activities than doing activities that you find boring. For this reason, when you are playing video games, you will also be spending more time immersed in the language. Not only will you have more exposure to the language’s vocabulary and grammar structure, but you will more likely run across a word that you want to look up in order to understand the game better. For this reason, you will be learning the language without it feeling like a hard task.

Now, you could just go on playing video games and through exposure over a long period of time as well as looking up words every now and then, you will begin to get better. In fact this alone may be better than taking traditional learning methods because you will likely put in more hours in the language which is a key to learning a new language.

However, if you want to take it a step further, I would suggest using the video game as a tool to language study. When you come across sentences with words that you don’t know, you should write them down or keep a list of the vocabulary. This way, you can go back later and study the points that you didn’t know. Since video games tend to have vocabulary repetition, it is likely you will come across the same words again thus reinforcing the words even better into your memory.

There is a lot more I could say at this point about how to use the video game for language learning after you’ve begun playing but it is out of the scope of this article. I have however written a book that covers all these issues and you can learn more about it by clicking on the link below. The point I want to impress now though is that language learning doesn’t have to feel like a hard task. You can, in fact, use enjoyable material to learn a language and this is probably a better route anyway since you will likely end up spending more time “studying” the language.

If you want the fastest method to learn a language so that you will become fluent in a foreign language in a matter of months, learn thousands of words without worrying about forgetting them, master grammar and do all of this in an enjoyable, painless manner then you need to read Learn That Language Now!

Foreign Language Learning

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Foreign language learning is a rewarding activity. It can offer new job opportunities, new friendships and the opportunity to travel to new places.

If you are into foreign language learning, you probably want to know the best way to go about aquiring a new second language. I have studied foreign languages for a long time and I want to pass on some information that you can use so that you do not lose any time studying like I did. Soon you will be learning a new foreign language very quickly!

Firstly, let’s see some common problems. I will go over three of them and then I am going to cover something that I think is the most important to keep in mind when studying a foreign language.

Problem 1: Word lists. Many foreign language programs, books and textbooks have long word lists at the end of each section. While it may seem like having a word list to memorize is what one should do to learn a language, it is actually a very large waste of your study time! Unfortunately, these word lists lose the context in which these words are used which is the very process by which humans best acquire new language and in your case, a new foreign language.

Problem 2: Foreign language grammar rules. Language textbooks love grammar rules. While these grammar rules are easy to teach, by learning them, you will not become a fluent speaker. More important is to learn real phrases that are used by native speakers. Learning grammar rules will only insure that you know grammar in the language. You will not gain fluency or the ability to really speak and understand the foreign language.

Problem 3: Useless sentences. Foreign language learning programs often try to get away with teaching you sentences that you probably won’t be using anytime soon. They give you sentences like ”The horse is in the barn” but do not teach you real sentences that you will use like ”Let’s go get something to eat after this.”

Now for the number one, most important point when foreign language learning: full, complete, natural phrases. Unfortunately, many programs and textbooks will teach you language that you will not end up using very often in real life situations. If you use these resources, you will find that you will be unable to understand the language when you go out into the world and you will only be able to say phrases like “The cat is large” or “How do you do? My name is Joseph Smith. I am pleased to meet you” which will have native speakers laughing at your stiltedness.

If your goal is to speak the REAL language, then you should focus your energies and efforts on the REAL language. Don’t waste any time on language that only exists in textbooks. Furthermore, do not waste any money on these textbooks or programs. Real, natural phrases will get you used to the natural rhythm of the language and immediately begin to condition you to sound like a native speaker.

I hope this article has helped you. There is much, much more to language learning and I share all of my tips, tricks, techniques and methods in the book I have written. If you want the fastest method to learn a language so that you will become fluent in a foreign language in a matter of months, learn thousands of words without worrying about forgetting them, master grammar and do all of this in an enjoyable, painless manner then you need to read Learn That Language Now!

Learning Languages

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

If you are into learning languages, you may be interested in knowing more about how to go about learning them. Learning languages is a fun experience that can improve your mind and lead to new opportunities in your life.

While learning languages is a fun activity, one also is probably interested in getting the most bang for one’s buck. That is to say, you want to learn your new language as quickly as possible and make sure your time is not going to waste. For this reason, I am going to share some tips with you so that you do not end up wasting your time like I did in the past. This way, you can be learning languages as quickly and as efficiently as possible.

I’m going to present three problems that often arise in learning language materials. Then, I will show you what I consider to be the most important thing when studying a foreign language.

Problem 1: Vocabulary lists. Many language learning books and textbooks work by having a long, boring phonebook-like vocabulary list at the end of every chapter that they expect you to learn. Using rote memorization to learn these long lists is not only a waste of your studies, but not very fun for you, either! Unfortunately, long vocabulary lists lose the context that makes the words important and humans learn language through repeated contextual examples; not a list of one to one translations of single words.

Problem 2: Grammatical rules. Explanations of grammar tend to be the meat of a lot of learning language programs. Unfortunately, learning these rules won’t make you a fluent speaker. It is much more important to learn natural phrases that you can use at a rapid rate. Learning grammar rules will only insure that you know grammar in the language. It will not give you the power to speak fluently or quickly.

Problem 3: Wasted language. Foreign language textbooks and programs will teach you phrases and words that are not necessarily useful for you at the beginning. What they teach you are words that are better suited for their grammatical explanations and word lists. They teach you sentences like ”The ball is behind the sofa” but will not teach you real phrases you might use like ”Want to get a bite to eat later?”

Let’s look at the most important point in learning languages: full, complete, natural phrases. It is unfortunate that many language programs would rather teach you unnatural language that is rarely spoken. If you use these resources, you will find that you will be unable to understand the language in real situations and you will only be able to say phrases like “The cat is large” or “How do you do?
