How Long Would It Take To Learn Spanish Using Rosetta Stone?

Rosetta Stone Spanish unfortunately does not teach enough vocabulary and grammar structure to get you to a fluent level. The best that you can hope to achieve through Rosetta Stone is to reach a very basic proficiency in the Spanish language.

In order to get to fluency in Spanish, you will need a lot more than Rosetta Stone. Rosetta Stone Spanish will be able to get you to the point where you can make conversation about basic topics and be able to understand the gist of most conversations that you will hear between native speakers. For most people, this level is good enough if they are going on vacation or planning on taking a short trip to a country where Spanish is spoken. You can probably reach this level in under half a year of using Rosetta Stone actively.

On the other hand, if you are serious about learning Spanish to a high level or if you are interested in being able to understand newspapers, books, television, movies, etc. then you will need to do a lot of studying outside of Rosetta Stone because Rosetta Stone just does not cover enough material to get to that level.
